Searching for Tax Software / technology manager in London

Wednesday, 27 October 2010

Our client is a dominant and expanding tax software business with an excellent product offering in the tax accounting field, and now seeks a high calibre Manager to join a client-facing team and take a lead role on their software implementations within multinational groups.

Based from London, and with extensive travel around the UK & European region, key aspects of this role will include meeting with client tax departments and assessing business and IT technical needs, recommending a configuration with the tax software, taking a lead role on the implementations process, and taking charge of client training on use of the product. Ideal candidates will have established experience within the corporate tax software market in the UK, and will have a good appreciation of the tax accruals process (UK Gaap / IFRS) for an international group. Experience from relevant tax teams in the Big 4 in UK / Europe or from other tax software houses will be highly desirable. In addition, being able to communicate well with Heads of Tax and FDs, a quick thinker with sharp problem solving skills will be required for success in this role. In return, a rewarding and fast moving career with a market leading employer is on offer.

For a confidential discussion on this role, please contact me at and I will arrange to call you.

Real Estate Tax Manager / Senior Manager

Tuesday, 12 October 2010

This is my weekly note to highlight a noteworthy in-house tax opportunity that I am currently working on.

My client is in the property investment and real estate funds sector. They have a long standing and successful history, and in terms of asset value this is a £multi-billion business. They have a London based in-house tax team, and they now seek a Tax Manager or Senior Manager to work on primarily tax planning & advisory issues. This busy role will involve tax structuring issues (analysis of choice of vehicle and juridictions etc) and advising on big ticket property transactions. Essentially this is a UK / international tax planning role, centered on the real estate sector, although with consideration for VAT and Stamp Duty planning being required in the role.

I would be interested to talk in confidence to London based Big 4 Tax Managers or Senior Managers within the real estate / PE / investment funds sectors, who now feel they would benefit from a more commercial based role. Also very interested to talk to any tax advisers already in-house within this sector, although Head of Tax level people would be too senior.

Seeking international tax managers for a FTSE 100

Tuesday, 5 October 2010

The market is slowly improving, with more in-house tax roles becoming available over the last 6 months. These are often as part of a net cost reduction exercise at head office level i.e. recruit an in-house Tax Manager to reduce on adviser fees, or as a result of more projects / restructuring activity in the group.

I'm keen to make contact with a Tax Manager or Senior Manager with UK-international tax planning experience in a Big 4 firm. This is for a tax planning / structuring role in London (basically International Tax Manager) for a global FTSE group. It's a high calibre, highly visible role in a fast paced company, and one which would present an excellent first move into a commercial based tax role from the profession.

Anyone wishing to have a confidential discussion on this, please contact Simon Godley at Email: or via the website
