Tax Software - job opportunity for corporate tax junior

Tuesday, 15 February 2011

Below is a current role that I am working on - searching for a CT person, up to Assistant Manager level in Big 4 / Top 10, someone with strong tax technical / analysis of legislation, quite techy / mathsy, wanting combine these attributes:

Do you enjoy the tax technical side of tax, but want to do more? Do you feel that you want to use your brain more on complex problems? Leading provider of tax technology / IT products has devised a new role for a technically-minded tax professional to join their software development team. This is a rare hybrid role, looking for someone able to bring together enthusiasm for IT with tax technical experience. This role will work on key projects, including enhancements to current tax software and assisting with development of new product pipeline. Working with some great minds in IT development, the main activity within the role is to analyse & de-construct complex UK & overseas tax legislation and to model into a spreadsheet format, working closely with IT experts. To work well in this role and environment, you will have a strong academic background, possibly with a good grade in 'A' level Maths and/or a science degree. You will have commenced your tax career, either on ACA / ACCA or CTA route with a large accounting or law firm, with technical experience in corporate tax, and be able to quickly analyse and understand tax legislation. In addition, you will have a genuine interest and good skills on IT - e.g. Excel, using tax software products, MS Access etc. This is an excellent opportunity for an IT-enthused tax trainee to channel their skills and work for a leading player.
