SAP Consultants - to retrain into growth VAT systems market

Friday, 27 April 2012

Here are the details of a campaign we are running to find SAP (FI CO) Consultants who would like to sub-specialise into the niche and high growth field of VAT systems and tax automation:

Are you a SAP Consultant, experienced in the FI-CO modules? Are you now looking for a change, possibly to break the cycle, and to narrow into a more specialist corporate systems area?

Our client is an award winning and well known global consultancy & professional services firm. Their well established tax practice in London is experiencing excellent growth, particularly in the area where IT and tax overlaps, namely the tax systems sector.

As a result of this, they have now created opportunities for professionals with an IT / ERP / SAP financials background to retrain and develop their careers into VAT / indirect tax systems. This will be a project based role, working with large-end multinational companies that are looking to change or upgrade their VAT compliance and reporting systems within the SAP environment, typically on an international level across many jurisdictions. Examples of projects include performing tax / VAT sensitization of SAP FI-CO modules, creating VAT reporting tools, high level VAT automation projects as well as implementing bolt-on tax engines within SAP, such as Sabrix or Vertex.

In terms of your background, you will have a good grounding in SAP, preferably with experience on FI-CO change programs. With approx 3-5 years’ initial experience, you will now be looking to build on this and further specialise and to develop your career in the corporate consulting market. You may been working on a contractor basis, but now looking for a more longer term stable opportunity and to switch into a permanent and progressive career track. An awareness / knowledge of the tax and VAT field is desirable, but not essential as all necessary training will be provided. This is a London based role with some regular travel on client projects.

Apps for Tax Advisers

Wednesday, 11 April 2012

Given that business life is becoming increasingly mobile, as we try to achieve as much as possible with our iPads etc, here's a quick review of tax related Apps that I've found that could be useful to tax professionals.

Tax Apps
(available from iTunes Appstore)

This is fairly simple quick reference tool for tax rates, covering all personal and corporate taxes. Includes rates for prior year.

uktaxmobile (from Deloitte)
(available from iTunes Appstore)

Good app for latest insights and information for UK businesses. Includes articles written by Tax Partners.

(available from iTunes Appstore)

This interactive App for VAT could be good for training more junior level staff on VAT rules affecting an international group.

Tax Trends
(available from iTunes Appstore)

This App is good for keeping up to date on tax news, although more geared to issues that affect small to medium sized businesses.

Please let us know if you are using any other useful tax apps not mentioned here, we would appreciate your feedback. Email:
