Tax Accountant - great new opportunity

Thursday, 20 September 2012

International Tax Accountant
Berkshire | £40,000 - £50,000 + 10% bonus + Pension + other good benefits
Our client is a successful international company, with revenues of $1.3bn and employing 3,000 people worldwide.

Key aspects and responsibilities of this role include:
  • To prepare and co-ordinate quarterly tax reporting figures for the group under US Gaap, and to determine a tax rate estimation
  • Assist in ways to improve the tax reporting process
  • To assist with the UK tax compliance / returns preparation by collecting data and information and working closely with external tax advisers
  • To assist the business on indirect tax issues (not compliance) relating to selling of new products and services

A new role has been created within the European HQ finance function for an International Tax Accountant, to report to the Tax & Treasury Director.  This will be a fast moving role, with good visibility across finance and within the business, possibly ideal for a Tax Senior / Analyst looking to make a first move into an in-house tax role following an ACA / ACCA tax training.  Alternatively could be appropriate for an in-house Tax Accountant with good tax reporting skills, now looking for a new challenge.
In terms of your background, you will ideally have an accountancy training and will be either fully or second stage part-qualified (ACA / ACCA) and with a strong interest in tax.  You will have built up some strong corporate tax compliance and tax audit / accounting experience, either within a large or mid-sized accounting practice or within a mid-cap or large-end international group. You will have very good Excel skills, able to change or enhance a spreadsheet for creating tax figures for accounts, as well as being skilled on other MS Office products.  Ideally you will also be familiar with using tax compliance software (e.g. Alphatax / Abacus) for UK tax compliance.  A good background knowledge of VAT would also be desirable, but not essential.  In addition, this role requires someone with good all-round interpersonal skills, able to communicate well with senior finance or business professionals on matters relating to accounting and tax.
This is a high calibre and challenging tax role, based within a fast moving company with an excellent track record.
