Seeking a Tax Accountant with US Gaap reporting experience for a sought after commercial role in industry:

Are you a qualified Tax Accountant now looking for a role with more commercial exposure?

Well known multinational group with a significant EMEA operation based in the UK seeks a newly / recently qualified Tax Accountant for a tax reporting role based in the in-house tax function.
This challenging role will mostly be responsible for:
  • preparation of annual and quarterly tax figures based on US Gaap principles.  This will include analysis of current and deferred tax provisions.
  • assisting the US tax team with providing data and information for the EMEA group for US tax return purposes
  • supporting a Tax Director on other ad-hoc tax planning issues and researching other tax scenarios affecting the group
To match with the requirements of this role, you will have an accounting qualification having trained and recently qualified for one of ACA, ACCA or CPA.  You will have developed an excellent understanding of tax accounting calculations and processes as found within a multinational group.  Knowledge / experience of tax reporting under both US Gaap and IFRS will be a distinct advantage.  You may have trained as an accountant within an accounting firm, and now have gained some tax reporting experience in-house with an international company.  Alternatively you may have trained as an accountant in industry within finance, and then moved on to dealing with tax reporting within a role or as part of a secondment / internal move.
In addition, you will have good skills working with IT/software packages such as Excel, Word, Hyperion, and extracting tax data from SAP / ERP systems for the purposes of compliance / reporting.
This is a truly excellent move for a newly / recently qualified tax senior / associate looking for that first move into industry or as a step into a more specialised tax career from a mixed audit / finance / tax training.

Mixed Tax Supervisor / Assistant Manager
London | £44,000 - £52,000 + Bens

Leading award winning independent UK firm of accountants, part of a global network, now seeks a forward thinking and ambitious Mixed Tax Supervisor / Assistant Manager to work in their London based advisory team.
This progressive role will work closely with a Tax Partner who leads the practice, and will work on a range of tax planning and transactions for both individuals and corporate clients, particularly in the entertainments sector.  There will be additional exposure to tax advice work to a range of owner-managed businesses, HNW, families and trusts and not-for-profit organisations.
Relevant candidates will ideally have an accounting or tax qualification (CTA or ACA / ACCA route) and with some PQE tax experience, either gained in a large or medium sized accounting practice.  You will also have recent experience on tax issues affecting both individuals and corporate entities, with experience of tax planning methods in additional to any tax compliance responsibilities.
This is a very interesting and challenging client-facing role in a firm that provides plenty training and development opportunities to its staff.

Our client is a truly global organisation with a strong brand image and reputation worldwide. They are a leading tax advisory practice for high net worth individuals and their businesses. The team focused on advisory projects for HNW private clients now seeks ‘up and coming talent’ in the personal tax arena to work on pure tax planning & transactions projects. This is an opportunity for people that have trained and qualified in personal tax, have already moved on to advising HNW clients on tax planning issues, most likely operating at Manager level or the level just below, and are now looking to take the next step forward within the London market.

This role will involve:

Providing tax technical advice in relation to transactions for individual shareholders, including management buy-outs, refinancing, second and tertiary buy-outs, trade sales, start-ups and qualifying EIS investments.

Advising on the structuring of funds from a personal tax perspective including advice on the acquisition of carry and appropriate reporting on the realisation of funds.

The opportunity to think creatively around individuals, partnerships, trusts and companies whilst working in a strongly commercial environment.

Development of client relationships and new client opportunities.

Working with a team of specialists and the opportunity to work with a wide variety of other tax and corporate finance teams.

To match up to the challenges of this opportunity, you will be professionally qualified (ACA or CTA), and will have trained within a personal tax environment. You will have already had a minimum 3-5 years’ of client handling tax experience. You will have developed a detailed understanding of capital taxes, you will have a good understanding of taxation of partnerships, and other tax planning methods for HNW sector.

You will be ambitious, looking to work on high-end tax projects and looking to prosper in a very meritocratic and market leading practice.
