Accounts / Tax Software - entry level opportunity

Currently looking to speak to a candidate with 1-2 years' experience from a small or medium sized accounting firm with general practice accounts / tax experience, and with an interest in IT and technology:

Client Support / Product Analyst

Berkshire | £23,000 - £30,000 

Our client is a well established accountancy / tax software company with strong growth plans and an increasing customer pipeline.  A new opportunity has therefore been created within their customer support / product development team for an entry level Consultant to develop into a new career direction in the software industry.

Reporting to a Head of Development, the role will be involved in 2nd line customer support, often handling the more complex / problematic client user issues.  This will involve talking through with customers how to resolve bugs and / or advice on how to use the product for certain accounting treatments.  The role will develop into product development activities, writing of technical specifications on product upgrades and add-ons and then liaising with IT developers to have changes processed.

In terms of your background, you will have started an accountancy career, ideally with a small-medium sized firm of accountants.  You will have some good foundational experience on preparing of accounts and tax compliance for small-medium sized companies, ideally AAT or part-qualified ACCA, possibly also involved with clients’ VAT returns and Directors’ personal tax returns.  You will have regular client contact, either over the phone or ideally in face-face meetings.  You will have good user experience with one or more accounts preparation / tax software products in the market, and generally quick to pick-up using of IT and software.  In addition, you will be confident and with overall strong communication skills.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone that has started an accountancy career, and now looking to branch off into a new IT / software direction.  Required software product training will be provided.

Currently seeking candidates for this new opportunity, working for large software business.  Must have tax compliance and tax reporting background, good awareness of IT systems, and a good sales / consulting approach. 

Tax Software - Solutions Consultant
London | £55,000 - £65,000 + Bonus + Bens

Our client is a leading force in business systems, and continues to grow its London based tax software business, providing tax products and services to global multinational clients.
A new role has been developed, seeking an experienced level corporate tax compliance / tax reporting specialist that is also knowledgeable on tax reporting tools and related software.  The purpose of the role is to act as a key resource supporting the sales teams, and being the tax software product specialist.

Responsibilities include:
  • Supporting the sales team in selling tax software solutions by providing demo support and assistance on the technical aspects of proposals.
  • Being the UK product expert for tax software products and ensuring that all relevant stakeholders are apprised of latest developments and the product roadmap.
  • Working with the Manager to determine the go to market strategy and working with Sales and Marketing to ensure that the product message is being communicated
  • Taking responsibility for the client experience and ensuring that customer excellence is delivered throughout the sales cycle and delivery process.
  • Producing and maintaining demo data and examples for the sales teams to use, training the sales team on these, refining these and updating as necessary.
  • Assisting in running demos and running demos for more complex projects.
  • Training clients where needed.
  • Being the ‘face’ of the product at industry conferences and other events
Experience required:
  • Knowledge and experience of Corporate Tax Software within a tax compliance environment
  • Experience of tax accounting processes, ideally using a dedicated tax provisioning software package.
  • Experienced in demonstrating and presenting software solutions
  • Experienced in making presentations

Top Tier Software Consultant Opportunity - London

Currently searching for an experienced software consultant, preferably someone with an element of software development experience, now wishing to take on a client advisory / implementations role.  Very much focused on the banking / FS sector:

Business Software Consultant - London
£45,000 - £50,000 + Bens

Our client is a leading provider of business technology and information solutions, as well as enterprise level tax compliance software and services to accounting, tax and corporate finance professionals in accounting firms and large multinationals.

An Implementations project consultant role has been created within a recently established division, offering an opportunity to become an implementer of a customer data reporting solution which is being offered to large financial services groups and insurance companies.

Key Accountabilities:
  • Work with clients on implementations of data solutions, for example to:
    • Define  and document client requirements
    • Draft and agree project plans
    • Manage and provide professional services for implementation of the software as required during the entire project lifecycle, from scoping the client’s requirements, configuring the solution, working with the client on testing and through to rolling out the solution to end users and providing post-implementation support
    • Provide training for users of the software and develop training materials
  • Ownership of the implementation process and client relationship from close of sale to support hand-over
  • Maintain regular communication with implementation management and product teams to discuss support issues and feature requests.
 Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience:
  • At least a 2:1 degree, preferably in IT/ engineering/ maths / science degree
  • Experience in implementing software for clients (e.g. input to a SAP/ Oracle roll-out) or in large scale project management
  • Proven experience of direct client communication and management
  • Ability to work effectively in a team
  • A methodical approach to problem solving
In addition, you may have had previous IT / software development experience, now looking to focus on a client consulting / implementations role.
