Indirect Tax Software - Development Consultant
London based | £60,000 - £70,000 + Bonus
A great London based opportunity has emerged with a leading tax software & technology provider.  Our client is a major player in software development for tax applications in the UK and internationally.
A new role has been created within the development team for the indirect tax product suite.  This role will focus on the ongoing development of indirect tax software and associated data collection and automation applications.
Key areas of responsibility are:
- Coordinating with the wider development, research and quality assurance teams, to ensure that delivery and target dates are met for each release
- Production, agreement and progression of user stories for functional requirements; requirements will span tax technical, automation, implementation tools and system
- Provide a software development plan that meets the future needs of the clients and markets; prioritising bug, enhancement and all development requests
- Production of client and implementer release communications
- People management of the content development team
- Provide support and input to Product management and senior management on the roadmap and wider product strategy;
- Understanding functional and non-functional requirements of the product for both the short, medium and longer term
- Reviewing customer and prospect feedback and requests. Assessing feasibility, effort, client specific customisation vs. productised and road mapped features.
In terms of your background to be suitable for this opportunity, you will be of graduate calibre, preferably with a degree in a numerical, science or IT related subject.  Ideally you will have experience of delivering software projects, or working in a software product management role, most likely on software applications in the tax, accounting or broader finance areas. In addition, you will have people management experience, working in small teams, and can show strong leadership qualities.
Ideal candidates will have worked in an accounting / tax software house, delivering on client software, although more broader backgrounds in VAT / Finance will be considered.  Future promotion opportunities will arise for strong performers, and scope for international travel and overseas secondments.
