Talentpool Selection - recent placements in tax technology

Tuesday, 14 April 2015

Within the last 3 months, Talentpool has made a number of placements in and around the UK tax technology market, including:

Senior Manager – Indirect Tax Software (London)

One of our key software company clients had been searching for a senior level client service / implementations manager to lead a team for implementing of indirect tax engine software with their customers. It had been a challenge to find any candidates that had an appropriate ERP / SAP background coupled with sufficient insight or experience in the indirect tax sector. Talentpool managed to identify a candidate with an initial Big 4 chartered background, who had then phased into SAP-Finance implementation / consulting work. This candidate did not have in-depth indirect tax experience, but we identified that the deep knowledge base and experience within SAP FICO and direct tax were highly transferable for the role. We also identified strong people management and project management skills from the candidate, also essential for success in this role.

Assistant Manager – Big Four tax technology consulting
Our client is a tax technology consulting team within one of the Big 4 firms. It is a European-wide team, with London as the main hub, mostly focused on corporate tax reporting technologies. The team has a number of key leadership executives in place, and now going through process of building up expertise in the team at the more junior operational levels. We recently identified a candidate with strong potential for the team – Top 10 firm corporate tax background, detailed tax compliance experience, and with very good grasp of methods of improving compliance through Excel and other tax software tools. His general work approach and calibre of background proved to be highly suited for this team.

Lead Tax Software Developer – Software House
Talentpool deals with the full range of roles within the tax technology area, including roles at the IT-software development end of the market. One of our key clients had been struggling to find relevant candidates for a role working on the content software for their UK tax program. Talentpool met with the leadership of the team, discussed and assessed what would be the most ideal candidate backgrounds for coming into this role. Within a couple of weeks, we had presented 2 relevant tax candidates that fitted the role requirements, resulting in a swift and successful placement process.

What do our candidates think?

“Simon is an outstanding recruiter having a very good understanding of global tax and tax technology industry requirements. He has a unique approach of placement, works very closely with candidates at each stage and does a lot of hard work in preparing candidates. Very well networked with key decision makers. I strongly recommend Simon for your next career move.”
VAT Solutions Manager, Software House

“From beginning to end, my experience of working with Simon Godley at Talentpool was first rate. Advising purely on relevant opportunities combining both my tax technical background alongside my more specialist tax technology experience, he continuously displayed an expert understanding of the market and my potential opportunities. I was ultimately delighted with the service from both Simon and Talentpool and would highly recommend his services.
