Our client is a leading force in the development, marketing and services relating to commercial tax software and technology.  Their highly innovative software development team now seeks an additional content developer to work on a new product area in the banking / financial services sector.  This role does not require an IT programmer, but someone very familiar with SQL / XML functionality that can bridge the gap between legislative content requirements and coding into software.
Key Accountabilities:
The successful candidate will initially focus on developing content for a banking reporting solution, working across a large number of jurisdictions and analyzing XML schema documentation.  The role will require someone with significant software experience, the ability to analyze tax technical XML schemas and to use their experience to make an immediate contribution with limited hand holding. • Researching, analyzing system and rule requirements for validations of the product’s form documents.
  • Work with our external tax content advisers to ensure product’s reporting is meeting the current legislative requirements.
  • Reviewing issues and feedback requests from team members, sales team and clients – providing responses and recommendations.
  • Providing design recommendations and options, developing and integrating the content per specifications.
  • Ensure that all changes are properly documented and ensure the help documentation is updated to match tax content changes.
  • Assist the QA team with execution of test plans when required.
Preferred Qualifications and Background:
  • Educated to degree level ( Mathematics, IT, Science, Economics , Accounting, Finance, Business).
  • 5+ years experience working on business analysis and content of software solutions.
  • Development skills including Microsoft SQL Server and XML.

  • Exceptional attention to detail, an organised and methodical approach to work and ability to handle multiple tasks.
  • Enthusiastic and willing to work in a fast paced environment.
  • Ability to work effectively both in a team environment and independently.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a IT science background that has picked up specific SQL / VBA / XML experience within a certain project (e.g. creating a complex data reporting system) and is now looking to develop further and formalise that experience within a leading software organisation.  London based with small amount of travel when required.
